Laura Dempsey

Teacher

Laura fell in love with the practice of yoga while studying for her masters degree as a way of managing stress. She has always been interested in health and fitness, but this was the first time she really felt connected to her body through movement. On a physical level, she began to celebrate her body for what it could do, rather than what it looked like. Mentally, she felt more grounded, more connected to her values, and more confident. In 2019, she moved to the UK and continued to practice yoga and delve a little deeper into the philosophy behind it. In 2022, she decided to take the plunge and complete her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Glasgow with Alice Gray. She has since completed training in Advanced Anatomy and teaching inclusive and accessible yoga. She is currently studying for her 300 hour YTT with Nourish Yoga Training.

Laura’s aim is for students to feel more connected to their bodies, and to feel strong and empowered on and off the mat. She is really passionate about getting people to fall back in love with movement, moving away from the idea that moving our bodies needs to be intense and unenjoyable to be of benefit.
