‘Tis the season of giving, and giving back!

Our beloved Gift Giving Tree is back at our Ballincollig and City Centre Studio for the fifth year, and we’re eager to help grassroots organizations working with families in Direct Provision with their toy drive. We are asking our community of yogis to pitch in with a gift valued between €25-40 for a child to open (You can always partner with someone to buy a gift!)

Here’s how you can help:

🌟 Visit our studios and choose a tag from the tree or email us at info@yogacorkireland.com to get tag details sent to you virtually.
🌟 Pick a gift for the named child
🌟 Reattach the tag to your gift
🌟 Drop it under the tree by December 11th

With over 51 children to surprise, your thoughtful gift can bring smiles and joy to their Christmas party on December 14th. Join us in this heartwarming tradition of giving and help make sure every child feels the magic of the season..

A Heartfelt Farewell for Himalaya Yoga Valley Midleton

Posted on

Namaste,

It is with a heavy heart that we share some important news with you. The recent flooding has left our Midleton branch with extensive damage to our floor, equipment, and premises, leading us to make a difficult decision. After careful consideration, taking into account the challenges we’ve faced with business closures during the pandemic and our current recovery phase, along with limited resources, we have made the decision not to reopen our doors. We will, however, continue to share yoga from our studios in Cork City, Ballincollig, and online.

Our time in Midleton has been marked by incredible moments of hope, renewal, and unwavering support from this wonderful community. When we first opened our doors, the people of Midleton embraced us, encouraging us every step of the way. Our Midleton studio became a beacon of light during a challenging period for us all after we had to close our studio in the city in 2020 due to Covid.

We hold so much gratitude to our community in Midleton. We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you. Your support has been the cornerstone of our journey, not only in these trying times but throughout our entire time in Midleton. The outpouring of love and solidarity from the community, including our clients, Midleton Chamber, neighbors, our wonderful landlord, and fellow businesses, has touched us deeply.

To our incredible teachers and team, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the knowledge, passion, and dedication you’ve shared with the community. You have left an indelible mark on all of us.

Though we bid farewell to our cherished Midleton space, we look ahead with hope and excitement for what the future holds. We are actively seeking a new location, one that will allow us to continue serving this wonderful community, this time on higher ground! Our aim is to be back in Midleton in 2024, stronger and more inspired than ever before.

To our dear members we have sent you an email communication relating to your passes and options to continue practising with us. You will find this in your member account or email inbox. If you don’t see this, please reach out to us and we will send you on this important communication.

This decision has been nothing short of heart-wrenching for us. We will miss our community dearly, as well as the beautiful space that has been a sanctuary for us all. As we move forward, we carry with us the cherished memories and the knowledge that our yoga journey is far from over.

We wish the brave people of Midleton all the success in their recovery phase. The community spirit has been exceptional during these difficult times, and everyone should take pride in the shared camaraderie and generosity that we all got to witness.

With deepest gratitude and warm regards,
The Team at Himalaya Yoga Valley Cork

Dear Beloved Yoga Community,

We hope this message finds you safe and well. We wanted to take a moment to share some unfortunate news regarding our center in Midelton, which was affected by the recent floods.

As of now, our building remains inaccessible due to the floodwaters, preventing us from conducting a thorough assessment of the situation however we know that it is completely flooded. We understand that many of you rely on the studio for your wellbeing and will be eager to return, and we share your determination to get back on our mats as soon as possible.

Our dedicated admin team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that all memberships are appropriately paused during this period and our classes are canceled. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this process. If you are a member of our Midleton studio we will be in touch with you in the next 24 hours.

In light of these trying times, we extend our heartfelt support to the wider community across Cork who have also been affected by the flooding. We recognize that yoga alone cannot undo the damage and devastation to homes and businesses, but we hope that it may serve as a source of solace and support during this challenging period.

To this end, we are pleased to announce that all of our Online Classes will be completely free for everyone for the next 10 days. We believe that coming together in practice, even virtually, can offer a sense of grounding and connection that we all need right now. You can access these classes through our website. These classes are for everybody who needs them, not just our clients. We wholeheartedly welcome you to our warm community online. You will find all classes here on our website marked as free to attend.

We want to express our deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support and concern we have received from each and every one of you. It is in moments like these that the strength and unity of our community truly shine.

We will keep you updated on any developments regarding the reopening of our Midelton center. In the meantime, let us continue to support and uplift one another through these challenging times.

Finding Stillness Workshop with Viriam

Posted on

Join us for an enlightening workshop where we delve into the heart of Patanjali’s teachings. At the core lies meditation, but the foundation is asana—the art of finding steadiness and comfort in our seat.

Embrace Stillness: What does it take for us to be steady, at ease, and create inner silence, allowing us to surrender to the meditative space? Asana invites us to be comfortable in our own skin, to trust our body’s sensations, and to ground ourselves in the present moment.

Holding the Space: Through a carefully designed asana sequence, we will prepare ourselves to sit, to listen, and to trust. The shapes we create help us hold space for ourselves, paving the way for deep listening and profound trust, where meditation can naturally arise.

Philosophy and Practice: As we explore the gems of philosophy that support us in embracing what is, we will also touch upon the importance of cultivating a strong core and a flexible spine. These physical aspects provide emotional integrity, inner strength, and a mirrored softening of the heart, enabling us to go beyond the distractions of the mind.

Experience Meditation: Meditation is not simply a destination; it unfolds naturally when we approach it with intention. Together, we will sit, immersing ourselves in the practice and experiencing the transformative power of meditation.

Workshop Details:
Himalaya Yoga Valley, Ballancollig
Saturday, 22nd July
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Cost: 25 euros
