Evolution & Growth at Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre

Cork city’s premiere yoga studio and one of the largest yoga centres in Ireland, is expanding to a fantastic new location in the city!  Due to the sensational success of the centre which has grown from strength to strength over the last 3 years the demand for more space, classes and services has increased greatly. To meet this demand Himalaya Yoga Valley will begin to hold all classes at Unit 34 Penrose Wharf from October 3rd 2015. Trainings and specialist workshops will continue to run out of the Academy Street branch.

This is a very exciting time for the company, staff and Cork’s yoga community. Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre has operated a yoga retreat and training centre in India for more than a decade and opened its Academy St Centre in Cork City in 2012.

“We are very proud of the yoga community we’ve grown in Cork City over the past three years,” said Director Maeve O’Brien.  “Our classes are accessible to everybody and the numbers have grown exponentially year by year. We have listened to the feedback from our regular clients and recognise the need to have more class places available daily along with additional workshops.  The additional facilities, such as parking, at the Centre in Penrose Wharf will meet the needs of our valued clients very well. Himalaya Yoga Valley staff and teachers are excited to see newcomers and all our students from the past three years  to experience the new studios for themselves.”

Highlights of the new location include:

  • Two large, modern studios that can accommodate up to 90 students comfortably
  • Parking spaces directly at the Centre
  • Close proximity to bus and train stations and city bike scheme
  • More changing areas, a swifter sign-in system and a beautiful Chill-out room.
  • Increased classes, corporate classes, workshops and special events.

The founder & Director of Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre, Yogacharya Lalit from India will be in attendance to open the centre. Over the opening weekend he will teach free masterclasses for our valued clients and those wishing to begin their yoga journey.

Yogacharya Lalit has taught nationally and internationally for the past 15 years, graduating thousands of students at his training centres in Goa, Dharamshala and Thailand, as well as here in Ireland.  The vibrant teaching team at the Cork City centre have all been trained by Lalit in India or Ireland, and through their classes share traditional yoga teachings from India with an emphasis on improving physical, emotional and mental health.

Our launch is taking place from 4pm on the 2nd of October and we warmly welcome members of the press and media to attend.
